Our Caddy Program
The Way Golf Was Meant to Be Played
The Old Collier Caddy Program is among a small number of stateside clubs that offer a single-bag caddy program in which golfers are encouraged to walk the course with a professional caddy. Club caddies hail from the finest golf clubs in Scotland, England and Ireland, including St. Andrews, Carnoustie, Gleneagles, Kingbarns and Turnberry as well as the United States. Tee times are unnecessary. It's the way golf was meant to be played. |

The Merits of a Good Caddy
The relationship of golfer and caddy is unique. Part coach, part psychologist and part butler, the caddy stands by his player, anticipating every need. Although he may have met his player only minutes before, for the next eighteen holes, he will be a constant and loyal companion.
As the caddy becomes familiar with his golfer's style, he registers his game and comes to anticipate his needs and preferences. Does he prefer the driver or 3 wood at hole 10? At what point will he want a drink of cold water? When will cheering him on be helpful - and when would silence be preferred? Attention to every detail is the key to a successful partnership.

Most importantly, a good caddy will help the
golfer to relax, and to stop thinking about - and
start playing - the game of golf.

A good caddy can lower a golfer's score by an average of two to five strokes. Possessing an intimate knowledge of the course, the caddy can identify yardages, read greens, select clubs and advise on course management. The caddy will also ensure top course conditions, repairing divots and ball marks and alerting the course manager to any needed work. Most importantly, a good caddy will help the golfer to relax, and to stop thinking about - and start playing - the game of golf. |
